SkillSaga

SkillSaga aims to sustainably improve the quality of life of young people living with chronic illnesses in the programme region. To achieve this, the project is developing a playful, game-based learning experience that helps adolescents aged 16 to 19 build the knowledge and skills they need to manage their condition in everyday life.

The development process is carried out in close collaboration with young people from Denmark and Germany. Their needs, wishes, and lived experiences are at the heart of the design and development process.

The game can be used in both clinical settings and informal community environments, such as youth organisations, holiday camps, and peer support groups.

The project runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 and brings together researchers, clinical partners, and a game development company in a German–Danish collaboration.

SkillSaga is funded through the Interreg Germany–Denmark programme by the PKP Germany–Denmark and co-financed by the European Union.

The project’s total budget amounts to €307,405, of which €199,813 is provided through project funding.
