We partnered with the Landkreis Fürth to develop talent2maker:
An innovative, interactive web platform that reinvents career orientation for young people aged 14 to 17. Funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs, talent2maker empowers youths to discover their personal strengths and talents while exploring local career and training opportunities.
The Challenge
Choosing a career can be difficult for young people: the range of professions and training opportunities is vast, while many teenagers have little idea which careers actually fit their interests and strengths. At the same time, regional companies need effective ways to reach young people and give them a realistic impression of the opportunities available in their area.
The challenge was therefore to make career orientation more personal, engaging, and connected to the local environment, while bringing young people and regional employers together on a single platform.
Our Approach
We combined talent discovery, gamification, practical information, and direct access to regional employers in one interactive experience.
At the heart of the platform is a career orientation game built around strength cards. By matching fictional personas with suitable careers, young people are encouraged to reflect on their own abilities without turning the experience into a conventional aptitude test. The results feed into a job configurator, which suggests career paths based on individual strengths and interests.
We complemented this with a talent-driven training marketplace where users can explore professions and filter opportunities according to their personal interests. Detailed company profiles and direct contact options connect career exploration with real regional employers.
To make professions more tangible, we also integrated 360° virtual workplace tours filmed at local businesses. Guided by trainees in their actual workplaces, users can explore environments ranging from orthopaedic workshops to farms and get a more authentic impression of everyday working life.
The platform is rounded off with practical information about applications, training paths, and job interviews, creating a central point of reference for young people navigating their first career decisions.
The Impact
talent2maker brings career orientation, talent discovery, and regional training opportunities together in one accessible digital platform.
Instead of starting with the question “Which profession should I choose?”, young people can start with “What am I good at, and what interests me?” — and use those insights to explore suitable careers and real opportunities in their region.
For regional companies, the platform creates an additional channel to present their training opportunities and give potential apprentices an authentic impression of their workplaces.
